Is VigiAlarm a private security company?+
No. VigiAlarm is a video surveillance camera installation company. It carries out sales, installation, configuration and technical support of self-managed electronic systems, and does not provide activities reserved for licensed private security companies.
Do the cameras have mandatory monthly fees?+
There is no mandatory monthly fee to use the advertised system. The equipment remains the customer’s property, with local recording and mobile access depending on the model and configuration installed.
Is there lock-in or a mandatory maintenance contract?+
There is no lock-in or mandatory monthly maintenance contract. Technical interventions, upgrades, repairs or maintenance may later be hired voluntarily by the customer.
Are recordings stored in the cloud or locally?+
The advertised system stores recordings locally on the recorder (NVR or DVR) or a compatible card, without depending on a cloud service to operate. Remote access depends on the connection and configuration installed.
What happens if the Internet is cut?+
Local recording keeps working on the recorder while there is power. What is temporarily lost is remote mobile access until the connection is restored.
Does VigiAlarm connect cameras to an alarm receiving centre?+
No. Within the advertised service, the systems are self-managed and are not connected to alarm receiving centres or external control or video surveillance rooms.
Can I view the recordings myself or do I need someone?+
Yes. Access to recordings and live video is done through the manufacturer’s app with your own credentials. You decide who has access and can create users with differentiated permissions. You do not need an external operator to run the advertised system.
How long are recordings kept?+
As general guidance, the retention period should be limited to the strictly necessary time and, barring justified exceptions, should not exceed approximately one month, after which recordings should be deleted. The recorder configuration allows the retention period to be adjusted according to disk capacity. This information is general in nature and does not replace specialised legal advice.
Can I aim the cameras at the street?+
Capture of public roads must be limited to what is strictly necessary when unavoidable to control access. Cameras must not unjustifiably capture private dwellings, private terraces, adjoining properties or other third-party spaces. When the equipment allows, privacy masks or exclusion zones can be applied. VigiAlarm advises on technical orientation during the preliminary study.
Do I need to put up video surveillance signs?+
Signage of the video-surveilled area must exist when required, using visible signs indicating image capture and the identity of the data controller. Signage makes people aware of image capture. See the Spanish Data Protection Agency for the detail applicable to your case.
Does VigiAlarm do 24-hour surveillance or monitoring?+
No. VigiAlarm does not carry out surveillance or permanent monitoring. The system can record continuously when technically appropriate, but the term “24-hour recording” refers to continuous recording, not surveillance or monitoring by VigiAlarm. “24-hour surveillance” or “24-hour monitoring by VigiAlarm” is not used.
Can I give a technician remote access?+
Yes. When requested by the customer, VigiAlarm can provide authorised remote technical support for configuration, upgrades or incidents, always with your consent and during an agreed intervention. No permanent or default remote access is maintained: you control who accesses and when.
